Irreversible Situation might have been an apt song.

Just had another listen to Shipbuilding and it easily surpasses the recent version on Jools show. Really beautiful and the best version yet.

This was a very moving programme, telling the story as it happened 100 years to the minute. I found the music to be exceptional and especially your performance of 'shipbuilding'. I am very proud of the work you do and the heart and soul you always put into it. X
Anyone playing it back on the Radio 2 Internet site will find the performance at 1.26

Got to say that this was one of the best pieces of broadcasting I've heard in years. I was really proud that my favourite band were a part of it, and the performance of Shipbuilding was very emotional. It was also lovely to see so much love for the band on twitter etc from people like Jeremy Vine and Dermot O'Leary.

Well done guys for a truly great performance on the radio event of the decade.
