Hue And Cry Album Studio Blog 2010

Hi folks

Greg here! This is the Hue And Cry Album Studio Blog 2010 - I'm doing a rough'n'ready weekly diary below, in the comments space. The most recent ones are at the top - read down for the history so far! [And Pat might be inserting the occasional comment or video too!]

It's getting funky in here...

best, greg x

Terry, thanks for the kind words ... Its good for me to keep a diary of what it takes to make a record ... can't wait to get it finished tho ... Don't know if u've seen this, but here's footage of MJ in the studio working with Quincy ... brill :) iw9x197gGh4

Spot on, Terry - that's more like what I've been trying to sum up about this process. We are blessed!!

Thank you, guys.

I have to say that the organic and transparent way you guys are going through the writing process - giving us fans a first-hand view of the mechanics, is fantastic. Too often the procedures and thoughts that make up a music album are either forgotten, only to be fabricated or half-remembered later in interviews, or there's a sense of ultimate secrecy - as if the artiste feels they'd lose something if they ever let the listener in.
Who wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall when Prince or Jackson (even Madonna at a push!) recorded one of their albums?
Good show fellas. Keep us updated, it's fascinating.

Hi pat and greg. Will you ever be performing in London or the south east at all?. I get very jealous that Scotland has you all the time! Ha ha

Thanks Yoff ... but remember, Pat wrote the melodies to our songs ... so he's still here, in spirit :)

prodigal sons album is missing from my collection. Will take care of that, although it pains me a lot to have to do without Pat's voice, the music is still as amazing as ever.

Great to see Paul bangin' it out. I talked with him at the ABC gig at x-mas about my love hate relationship with the hi-hat and "independance" in general. I miss drumming! ha! guess I'll stick to singing now. And for the most part leave the real stuff up to you guys. The masters. (I'm not worthy......ha, ha!).

Ahhh Truth and Love. The one song that sits at the top of my list of Hue and Cry favorites closes that album. Whirlwind. I have no idea what it is about but the music, the vocals...for me it's your masterpiece! and if I understand correctly never performed live.
